Dinner Undone Explained
Who else hates making dinner?
Especially when you have picky kids. I'm trying something new in my home. I've only cooked a real dinner maybe 3 times in the last 3 months. I just got tired of spending hours a week cooking a nice meal and no one eats it. I'm don't particularly like cooking in the first place and I'm most certainly not a short order cook. In my house if you don't eat dinner you may have 1 banana (bananas increase melatonin and help the body relax, so little do my kids know it's my little secret to help them go to bed) and that is it. I've tried all the secrets to getting your kids to eat but none of them work. I'm convinced my kids hate food.
By the time I get home during the week it is already 6:00pm so the amount of time I have to actually cook is limited before bedtime hits so I'm trying something new. Basically instead of prepping whole meals for the week or cooking each night, I'm making several different parts to make several different choices of meals to choose from each night. I started simple to see how it will go. So each night you choose from prepped ingredients to form your meal and then just warm it up. This could be a total fail but I'm giving it a shot. It's like a buffet for your fridge. The prep took me about an hour and a half.
